Hello Everyone!
I wanted to share ahead about something I found that is pretty cool. A Selenium rectifier from the good old days, NOS!
The Selenium rectifier was used in radio transmision equipment, and contained Selenium, some old diodes also contain Selenium. Many old school electrical components have interesting contents, like Germanium transistors, crystal frequency standards, Carbon resistors, Tantalum and Niobium capacitors. There are many fun ways to get samples!. I always like to disassemble anything electronic to look around. I have found some cool items like Platinum coated hard drive disc, Gold connectors, silver contacts, Osmium needles on old record players, old flash lamps of Xenon. I am hoping soon to upload new photos of a whole bunch of cool stuff.
